July 25th Mike Barr ---- From his website….
Mike has become known for his airy beachscapes and rainy-day street scenes, both of which feature water and reflection. He is influenced greatly by the impressionists of the Heidelberg school and in particular Charles Condor's work "Holiday at Mentone". Mike also is a contributing writer to the Australian Artist magazine with demonstration articles published in June 2007 and April 2008. He conducts demonstrations at art shows across Adelaide and is regularly invited to do them at art societies and groups around the metropolitan area. We look forward to meeting him.
August 29th Rod Bax.
Rod is a well known SA artist who has had prizes and commendations in the Waterhouse, Victor Harbor Rotary, has exhibited widely, and is represented in collections such as The State Library and St. Peter’s College. As an art educator he has influenced many young people through his career, while continuing to grow as an artist himself. We look forward to meeting him on Friday 29th August.
Sept. 26th Mark Judd.
Mark Judd is the director of the Waterhouse Natural History Art Waterhouse prize run by the Museum of SA. He will tell us a little about that, as well as talking about his own art, which many people recognize through his paintings of South Australian jetties and beaches.
